Ive got an mpeg where the voices and sounds are coming from the left channel and the music is coming from the right channel. Is there a way I can combine them to get them all in both channels? Thanks

    2 things you can do:

    #1-
Demux the mpg to mpv video and mp2 audio.
Convert (with TMPGEnc, etc) the mp2 audio to PCM wav.
    Open the wav (with Goldwave, CoolEdit, etc) and mix to dual mono--new [L] = 50% old [L], 50% old [R], new [R] = 50% old [L], 50% old [R].
Save as new wav (e.g. "dualmonowave.wav").
Convert (again with TMPGEnc) the wave to mp2 audio (now "dualmonowave.mp2").
Re-mux the mpv with the new mp2, name? "dualmonowave.mpg"
    TADA!!

    #2-
Leave it alone, and use your DVD player controls to read the tracks as a mono mix (most ARE able to do this).

The 2nd one is preferable if the quality is valuable, because all those conversion steps accumulate the loss in quality.

try mixing it to mono and then take the mono track and create a stereo track ..

its a longer method than metioned above but if you are having problems - its a fail safe method ..

Ok I got it done, I needed to change it to Left + Right for each channel. When I was done the mp2 file was smaller than the original, thats not going to affect anything will it? It wont make it out of sync when I rejoin them or anythign will it? Thanks guys for the help.

I know what you are watching I bet your friends will be green with envy.

I ran it through TMPGenc twice. Once to make it a mono audio track, then the second time to make it dual channel audio tracks. That way it will still be a correct stream for VCD.

Demux and then run it through some sort of audio tools would have been better, but I didn't have anything loaded.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

    Why whatever do you mean

Ok now I want to blur out two little black boxes on this mpeg, im using Virtualdub and this filter called logoaway. I block out the two boxes but I dont know what video compression I should set it at. I need to save it as avi then convert it to mpeg then join the mpeg and audio. So does anyone know what compression I should set it at? I know this is the wrong forum but I didnt want to start a new thread.
