As of late, I have a strange problem capturing with premier. I set it to capture say an hours worth of DV (just let it run) and dont always bother watching it as it does.

Well, lately, I notice at some point the picture freezes like its done BUT the camera is still rolling (say it froze at 10 minutes) and its at 12 1/2 minutes when I notice.

After going back to check, It stopped capturing at the the 10 minute mark but is thinks it still is (has not asked me to assign a file name, etc).

Try the same thing in VEGAS and it runs right on so I dont think its the tapes or camera. What is causing this glitch ? I have had it happen more and more frequently...but sometimes not at all. By the way, dropped frame count on all my captures is ZERO., so it is not speed or anything.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you recently installed Vegas? If yes, did you always capture in Premiere problem free before Vegas install?

The reason I ask, is because I recently experienced problems with Premiere after installing Vegas, and never had problems prior to install. I think there is a codec conflict with the two Apps. Once I restored system with Ghost image taken before Vegas install, everything got back to normal.

Just curious if the same happened to you.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

Well..I have had premier for almost a year, and have had vegas for about 6 months. This pproblem started about 1 month ago or less.

Something has changed....it really is annoying. Now I did recently get the CCE items which I understand have issues with premier. I am not using it but maybe a codec from it is hosing things. THEY coincide.

So if I remove CCE will it also remove the codecs ? I don't have a ghost version pre CCE...Can anyone tell ?
