  1. Hi,
I'm new to this capture thing and have tried the AverTV and WinTV. My problem is that I can view and listen to TV without a problem and it sounds fine. BUT, when I save the file and then play it back It has a nasty high pitch hum/hiss, thing going on.
How do I get ride of this?

    Thanks for all your help

    Hi,

Maybe your volume settings are too high when you're capturing? Have you checked the levels inside the application, and within Windows Volume applet?

Does your source have hiss? If so, use a noise removal program on the final capture. Some AUDIO RESTORATION techniques are in the guide in my signature.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

I too have noticed this with the avertv card.
It's seems to only occur when you use the audio line in with the loop back to your sound card.
I have no problems when I use the the coax input (ie a vcr) or if I input the audio directly to my soundcard (instead of the sound going into the avertv card then looping that to your original soundcard.
Some other users have sync issues not using aver's line input but I haven't so it might not work with your setup.

  8. What's the update on this? I'm surprised more people don't get this problem...I've always had the audio hiss in TV captures...I can tell when a TV is on because I can hear the hiss. Does this mean not everyone hears it?
