  1. I've been trying to copy a DVD (a successfully burnt product of iDVD on the same computer).

With Toast I get the error: 'Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR Sense Key Sense Code 0 X73, 0 X03'

With Disk Copy I get the error: '-21473525242 A target device error error (sic) occurred (-21473525242). 03/73/03'

Tried several different brands of blank disk (DVD-R)...

I'm using G4 Powerbook with Superdrive.

    Your thoughts appreciated.

How is it you are going about this COPY process. Can you list thet steps.
This error comes when you have bad media, or incompatible media for your drive.

  3. OK, here goes:

With Disk Copy I create an image ('Image from Device') from my unencrypted DVD. It proceeds 'Reading Apple_ISO (0)...'. Then when image is created I choose Burn from the Disk Copy menu. Insert the blank disk when prompted, get message 'Configuring Burn' hit Burn again. Briefly get message 'Initialising' then 'Writing track'. Pause for a few seconds then get error message and disk ejected.

With Toast (5.3.1 Lite) it is a similar business. I select 'Copy', it reads the track succesfully then prompts to insert a disk. Get message 'Preparing' then 'Writing Lead' then error message.

I have tried several blank disks of two different brands and get the same messages.

    Thanks for your interest.
