tmpg write error

I have just downloaded darkness falls and split it successfully using Vdub and then encoded the first part and burned it and it was fine.
I then do the second part and it is either out of synch or I keep getting "Write error occurred at address 77f536f7 of module 'ntdll.dll' with 00000000 can anybody advise

Does the message box seem to come from Windows or from TMPGE.

If it's coming from Windows it sounds like bad memory or memory controller.

Why do you split the file before you encode? Try encoding the whole AVI, then splitting the MPG file with Tmpgenc. When splitting with Vdub, you have to split it on a key-frame. Move the slider to where you want to split, and click on one of the small key icons at the bottom to move to the nearest key-frame...
