1. which is the best program to make a VIDEO_TS folder out of mpg files, so i can then burn it??

2. which is the best format for mpg files(vcd & svcd) to burn in CDRs so they can be viewable in dvd players??

I know that Ulead Movie Factory 2 can convert mpgs to dvd svcd and other formats, it can also make a VIDEO_TS folder for the movie, but my Movie Factory shuts down my PC when burning the movie. I have wasted many dvd-r because of that. So i only use MovieFactory to convert and make that video_ts folder(which takes like half a day), i then use nero to burn it. Is there any other program that is reliable and does the things that Ulead does but better??

well, u dont actually need to make a VIDEO_TV folder....and personally i like vcd better that svcd because to convert it is free. just download tmpgenc and convert to vcd compliant mpeg. then download VCD Easy and import the mpegs. it will burn it to your cdr perfectly. i once tried to burn an svcd and play it on my dvd player and i havnt really had a chance to mess with the settings, but the video was extremley jerky. not sure what went wrong, but vcd quality can be very nice as viewed on a tv.
