  1. I just recieved Media Cleaner Pro 4 from a friend and i was wondering what you guys know about it.

    Comments, suggestions, etc.

My goal is to compress clips so i can post them on my website.

I tried to compress an Mpeg 2 file because it said i couldn't do AVI and after trying many formats to export to i would recieve no video. Audio would be there but no video.

it is one of the worse programs ive seen -- even the current owner of media cleaner says this version (and 5) were the pits ..

it went through many owners - now discreet owns media cleaner .. the curent version is 6 (XL) , which is a LOT better (uses the main concept encoder now) ..

it will takes you days if not weeks i swear to accually encode ANYTHING w/ that version ..

  4. What do you mean it will take days even weeks to encode? Do you mean figuring it out.

IT seems very basic to use but i just dont see any video.

P.S. I dont have the money ot buy another app, i got this one for free and thats what i have to use.

well i mean it it is very slow ..

there are many freeware and inexpensive apps in tools section ..
but if its all you got -- then use it .. but you can not compress to wmv 9 or even 8 i think

Ms has a free compressor which is pretty good and makes stuff for the web

what is your source and what is your planned output ?

the MS movie maker is fine for making videos for the web (you would want windows media most likly)
