  1. I am using TMPEG Beta 12i to convert various files into VCDs.
I managed to get hold of a Divx film that converted perfectly. But other Divx file play fine but will not convert in TMPEG, they won't even convert in AVI2VCD or any other VCD encoders.
Is there a problem with certain types of Divx files does anybody know?

    Thanks!

I think you hgave to be more specific. Does the program open the files? Do the programs give you an error? What exactly happens when you are trying to convert?

  3. Thanks!
The files open in MediaPlayer and everything else fine, the play ok and are in a Divx format.

But when I use TMPEG to open the file ready to encode, I tells me the file is not supported.

    I am not sure why.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Most likey the DivX has an unsupported frame rate or 'errors' where made when it was encoded. Have you tried frameserving the DivX file to TMPGenc w/ AVISynth? Tried one of the DivX fixing programs? Just quessing here...

follow the instructions to the letter, and you should be encoding in no time.

  6. You need to use VirtualDub to seperate the audio stream or decompress the avi. Will load in TMPGeng just fine after that. Only problem is (and maybe someone will know)..
When I convert from divx to svcd, its kinda choppy picture.. When I di a dvd rip, its sweet as all hell.
