I would like to know how to check (view) the SubIndex information on a VCD![]()
In the Guide "How to burn CUE/BIN files (v1.03) / Guide by delphi.stuff":
http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Guides&id=BurnBin
The author tests several burning applications to Burn a detailed CUE file and then
"check after the copy if SubIndex information have been preserved during the copy"
But does not explain How they checked the SubIndex information.
I have done a lot of searching on the web, but there is very little information on VCD SubIndex.
I have try several burning applications but none are able to show a SubIndex on a VCD.
FireBurner 2.2.0 has Sector Browser which can show the raw data in a disc image,
but I don't know where or what I am looking for?
If anyone could be of some help it would appreciated.

It is relatively easy to check the subindices information.
Get a CD drive that can read subindicies properly (e.g., most/all CD-RW drives).
Get CDRWin to extract it to a CUE/BIN image. Open the CUE file with notepad. If the image is made with subindicies, you can compare the original CUE file to this newly generated one.

Thank for the info vitualis
I had tried that with CDRWin first but it didn't work and so thought it wasn't possible.
So after your post I tried again and I still can not get it to work.
but then I thought that other programs that use cue files may work
and after some searching I discovered that "CloneCD 4.2.0.2" has an
option to make a cue file, and it works perfectly (Problem Solved
).
If your interested I was using CDRWin 3.9C on WinXP with a Liteon LTR-40125W Burner,
CDRWin was saying my drive can't read subcodes (but it can) and the cue files didn't have
any subindices information:
Original Cue File
FILE "C:\Temp\Test.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 00 00:05:01
INDEX 01 00:07:01
INDEX 02 01:55:03
INDEX 03 03:48:41
INDEX 04 05:04:31
INDEX 05 06:40:44
INDEX 06 07:48:54
INDEX 07 08:42:21
CDRWin Generated Cue File
FILE "C:\CDRWIN\TEST.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 01 00:07:01
I also tried reading from Daemon Tools 3.33 Vitual CD drive which CDRWin says can read Subcodes
but it makes the same cue file.
I think CloneCD is better then CDRWin anyway so I am happy
PS I am get interesting results from my testing, for one Daemon Tools doesn't read cue files perfectly,
the subindices are there but the 2nd "FLAGS DCP" from track 2 is missing?
I will post my results when I finish testing.
Out of curiosity do you know what the "FLAGS DCP" does?

It could be an ASPI layer problem in CDRWin...Originally Posted by deancb14
I tend to use CloneCD more than CDRWin as well... It is worthwhile keeping CDRWin around though as even if you don't use it for burning, it can still generate ISO images from files and that can be quite useful...I think CloneCD is better then CDRWin anyway so I am happy
