    Hi

i dl the trial version to TMPGEnc to see how it works before i purchase it. anyway i seemed to work fine on win xp but when i upgraded to win xp sp1 it kept coming up with an error and would crash. the error was with some memory address issue or somethign. i then formatted my pc and put win xp sp1 back on and now this prog comes up with the not responding error every time i have tried it. i want to cut and merge my dv movies.

i have ver 2.02.31.119 of tmpgenc. could it be that ver has an issue with win xp sp1

    thanks for your help

  2. The best way to know, is to download a recent version instead of such an old one that you have, latest is 2.511 or 2.512 8)

i dl the latest version and it still does it. but i have found out what causes it to crash, i am trying to edit some movies that were captured from my dv camcorder through ulead videostudio. on every movie of this type it does it. they are mpeg movies. the play fine on the pc just want to cut some out if them. anyway tmpgenc works fine on another movie i tried. just not any that have been done with ulead.

  4. the current version has tons of problems. On my AVISynth script that worked perfectly in the previous version, it doesn't encode the correct number of frames, screws up the timecode, and generally just causes all sorts of mess of troubles. I have heard that if you don't close all GOPs it can screw things up with this program, but at 18 hours an encode (high quality on a 2 hour clip), I am pretty much done with messing with this mess. There goes $50 down the drain until the fix it. I wish I could download the previous version.

  5. Closing GOP's can certainly help with editing, that's for sure!
