I recently downloaded the 15day trail version of Dr. DivX 1.0 to convert mpg files to avi file for upload. (www.DivX.com)
Good points:
1. The program is very easy to use and can encode many file types.
2. Gives enough settng/otions to customize your conversion.
3. All-in-one converter, seems like the easest way to do it.
Bad points:
1. Installs GAIN adware. My Norton Internet security can block it.
2. Shows a DivX logo in the bottom right for the first few seconds. Im not sure if this happens only for the trail version.
3. Not Free, $49.
4. Quality is questionable, I haven't experimented wirth the settings yet.
Can anybody else comment on there opinion of Dr. DiVx?

The Divx logo for the first few seconds isn't just in the trial. I paid the $49 and still get it in my encodes. On the good side, it does a two pass encode in about half the time it takes VirtualDub to do it...

I have 2 pass encoded a few rendered DVD mpg files of RC trucks racing to the High def DivX configuration at 1000KBs. The trucks fast movement generates some pixel-smearing after encoded.[/img]
