I'm trying to make a cd of songs from different already burnt cd's (BTW, I'm using Nero). When I use the drag and drop method, the file says its type .cda. I know that if I try to burn it, it wont play...so what can I do? Hope that all makes sense. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

ok.. I think that you would have noticed that .cda files are very small (44K) and that that cant possibly be a song.
You first have to rip the Cd.
Look around Download.com for some Audio CD Ripping tools -
Thats what I thought...someone told me that I can use musicmatch to rip files. I have musicmatch...but I dont know how to rip files...please help.

Start up MusicMatch. Look for the button with the red circle on it (it should be near the play button) -- this is the record button. Click it to open the Recorder window. Put in the CD if you haven't already.
If the Recorder is looking in the wrong drive, go to the main "player" window and select Options -> Recorder. Here you can set your source drive, as well as the bitrate and type of file (MP3, Wave).
Once it detects your CD, you can choose the tracks you want to rip, then click "record" to start ripping. You can choose the file path for the MP3/wav files to go to, or you can keep the default (for a mix CD or unspecified CD, it will usually create a folder named "Artist" under "My Music")
If you are going straight back to CD and don't need to keep the files on your computer, then rip the songs as .wav files if possible. They are much bigger than MP3s (a full CDs worth of songs will be in the 600-700MB range), but retain a higher audio quality. You can then trash all the wav files when you're done and regain the hard drive space.
Last step, you can use Nero to burn all your MP3/wav files to an audio CD, just as you wanted to....
Hope this helps -
try easy cd creator - it can do direct cd to cd with the drag and drop method, no need to rip to hardisk and is easy to use. very simple.
