I have tried to get the chapters right for my svcd movie, but i can't find the right way to do it. I am making my movie with dvd2svcd making each cd separately, i convert only the chapters that go into each cd (for example, for cd one i select only chapters 1-14 and i get one mpg file that fits into one cd, then i select chapters 15-29 and do the process again...). Then i have 3 files with a number of chapters on them, and i want to author them with vcdeasy.
First i tried to get the chapters from a text file that dvd2svcd creates (dvd2svcd chapters file.ini) which looks like this:
[CHAPTERS]
Chapter0001=0
Chapter0002=6701
Chapter0003=10330
.....
But the chapters are totaly in the wrong position.
Then i tried it with another file created by dvd2svcd (DVD Maestro chapters file.chp) and the chapters are right but not exact, when i select a chapter in the dvd player it starts some frames before so i think the timing is not exact.
Another time i tried using chapterXtractor and i get the first chapters right but as the chapter number grows, the timing is worse, the last chapter starts like 4 seconds before the real chapter starts.
Then i converted the movie again using a 2 sec offset setting and now the chapterXtractor chapters are right (the dvd2svcd files are wrong again) for the first cd, i used the movie offset setting again for the second cd and now the chapters for the second cd are wrong.
Do i have to use the offset setting for the first cd only? is there another way to get the chapters right without having to set a movie offset setting? because this cuts a part of my movie, and since each cd has a number of chapters when insert disc 2 the next chapter starts 2 seconds after. I think it is better to use frame information for chapters because this gives the exact frame where the chapter starts and then i won't get some frames of the previous chapter when i select a chapter, is this right?
Please tell me how do you get your chapters right please, because i really want my chapters to be exactly as the dvd, Thanx.
