Looking For Instant Copy Analysis

To date, I've only used IC for 2 movies and had the settings set at automatic to determine the encode level/output size. Both come up about 4G. Thus I thought that looking into the registery hack.

For Terminator 2, I used DVDshrink to cut off the intro and credits and to strip out unnecessary audio. I then used IC to set manually set the target ouput level size. Version of IC is not the latest release. This is where it got interesting.

I thought that normally the actual size was SMALLER than the target set size. I'm not complaining but what is going on here? Did using DVDshrink first to edit the movie drastically effect the estimation capabilities?

Just looking for some analysis/thoughts here.

I have made 4 copy with the new patch 7.1.1

I set the size to 4.38 (or 4.39) and always get near 4.34 output size.. the new patch help a lot with this issue

I have the new patch as well, but Instant Copy will only allow 4.32GB MAX. I don't understand why either.

After you have the size set to what you want, just press F5 and the Ok Button will become usable again.

So I can set it to 4.38GB and then hit F5 to allow the processing to go through? Does it run into problems while burning or anything like that?

F5 will let you slide the the size limit beyond green and into the red.

Yes that is correct. In my experience, IC7's (w/latest update) output is slightly undersized. I therefore set the output size to be slightly more than can fit on a disk. So far this has resulted in almost completely filled DVDs

Using this method, I highly recommend that you send the output to the hard drive. You can than verify the size and quality before you burn.
