hi everyone, i've got a big problem: when i'm converting my divx-movies to svcd using tmpgenc, the movies are stuttering, it looks like there're some frames missing. i've tried almost every option in tmpgenc, but nothing helped. today i tried vcd (bad quality, but better than nothing) and all the movie was smooth without stuttering. does someone have a explanation or solution for my problem?

DivX is a great format but the jittering that you see things almost look like a video game right well that is due to the way that the filters of divX work. There is divx low motion and there is divX fast motion. Now the filters work the same in both. In divX there are filters that load the background and foreground as to where in other formats eg mpeg 1 mpeg 2 avi the each frame loads as a whole so that is why that happens there are codecs out there that will help though one that detects key frames when scene changes I forget some of the others but with divX Unless the Video Source was Superb You are going to have jitters in your movie for some more codecs or help try http://dvd.box.sk. I found the same thing happend to me in the fast and the furious and I Would also reccomend you get mgi video wave 4 if tmpeg cant encode it mgi can maybe give that a try.

Did you convert a 23.976fps DivX to 25fps SVCD? This will give a stutter since it has to add 1.024fps. Try keeping the framerates the same.
