  1. I was using Nero 5.5 to burn a VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD+R (Using Nero's DVD VIDEO setting) Anyway... the MAJORITY of the video burned well (its a 2 hr or so video, this isnt a bootleg/pirate video) the LAST 5 minutes of the video gets sticky (video freezes, sound stops, then skips foward a few seconds, plays normal and then sticks again) This isnt the first time it has happened (it happened when i was trying to back up a DVD that my kid scratched, but since this is off topic I only mention it here as evidence of a repeating problem, it also worked ok until the last 5-10 minutes)... I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before... The VOB files play without a problem from my HD, so it isnt a corrupt VOB file! Im thinking that it is either a problem with my hardware (see below) or a Nero Bug, or maybe Im burning TOO fast??? The problem is always towards the end of the video (Data that is around the edge of the disk, right?) is it possible that is the problem??? I didnt encounter any problem or errors while burning and I dont think the buffer ever ran out of memory (according to Nero anyway)... Need advice... HELP!!!

    PC Configuration:
Pentium 4 Dell 8250 with 60GB HD and 512 MB RAM
    NEC 1100A DVD+R/RW drive
    Using Verbatim DVD+R
    NERO 5.5

PS... In case I have never said so...THIS SITE ROCKS!!!! Definately one of my top ten sites of the internet, I have refered COUNTLESS people here.. but this is only the 2nd time I have ever posted here.. well, lurker no more!!!

  2. Have you updated to the newest version of Nero yet???
It happened to me and it's gone when I updated the new one.

  4. Personally, this sounds more like a media issue to me. Are you using cheap DVDRs? (e.g. Princo).

Often there are readability problems towards the outer regions of cheaper DVDRs. This may not be a problem with a DVD-ROM drive because they seem to have more capable laser-assemblies &/or error correction routines. Certainly, I've experienced identical symptoms with some 2xPrincos which were totally absent when I burned the same project to a Ritek DVD-R.

    Arky ;o)

  5. I used Verbatim disks, I think the are highly rated, arent they?

  6. Well, yes, I must admit that Verbatim are great disks, so if you used those then maybe my suspicion was not correct in this instance.

That's your problem IMO. Take a very close look at the media near the outer edge and you will see it is either discolored, has voids in the dye , or other evidence that something is different than the rest of the disc. I bought three five packs of the same media from BestBuy and all 15 had this problem. I was able to use the discs by simply limiting my burns to 3.9GB or less.

It's the disc and player. Had the same problem with Memorex dvd-r discs wouln't work on 1 of my players but worked fine on the other. I now use Ritek g03 discs and they work fine on both players.
