  1. I got Instant copy 7 from Amazon for $49 with free shipping. It has a $20 rebate from Pinnacle. My cost would be $19. With update 3 it works real good and fast. It comes real handy when what is left to compress is bigger than 5.5 to 6 GB. For smaller files DVD2One or Shrink would do just fine.

IC7 seems to be having problems with the current 7.1.1 patch. Many people report inexplicable crashes with the program. I had it happen twice now with those long DVDs. I guess we'll just have to wait for another patch as Pinnacle's own forum is rife with the same complaints. Their response is no response...no answers from Pinnacle at all...

    How is 49 - 20 = 19? Must be the new math.

  5. Sorry for my error. I went to check it again at Amazon today. It turned out that it is actually free now. Price is $29.95 and then you get a $30 rebate. So it is free.

I backed-up my Galdiator and Spirited Away with DVD Shrink 2.0 at 4X Compression. Came out great. I can barely see the difference from the originals on my 32 " Sony Wega.

Thanks falberni - I had to order the instant copy (don't know how much I'd use it) - couldn't resist FREE though
