  1. Hello,

I've encoded an hour of video with the Adobe MPEG encoder.
On the computer it plays without problems, but on my standalone
Pioneer DVD player it freezes frames in fast motion parts.
    I use a Sony DRU510A on a DVD+RW.

    Any sugestions ?

    Thank you!

Did you use CONSTANT BIT RATE
    or VARIABLE?

Varible BITRATE could fix your problem If you re-encode (I'm thinking your CONSTANT BIT RATE was too high like 8,000,000)

(of course you didn't say you messed with any of the TEMPLATES..but changing GOP structure and othersub-steam features will screw you up also)

You didn't say wich Pioneer player you have, but a while back, I bought a Pioneer DV- 250. When I brought it home, I tried all my dvds that I have made on it too make sure it would play them. About 40% would not play on it. Some that would play would freeze now and then like yours. All of my dvds would play fine on my old Samsung before it kicked the bucket. Anyway I picked up a Sony and everything playes fine.

I also use Main Concept to encode my mpgs. I use CBR-8000 with the quality slider @ 50. I would blame your player before the encoder.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

It freezes on a view frames only, but it is very anoying

I use the advanced option. I only change the bitrate to 5000 (variable) with an encoder quality of 50. What are the best GOP settings to use ?
Could mulitplexing have something to do with it ?

    Thank you!
