  1. I've got an asus tv tuner card and am using the powervcr software that came with it, but everytime I run the program as a tv tuner the sound will cut out after a few seconds up to a minute. I can go back in and change the format (mpeg 1 vs mpeg 2 vs whatever) and the sound will come back on for the few seconds to a minute, but then will cut out again. The composite in works just fine - I recorded several minutes off of my camcorder with no audio problems. I also downloaded Windvr 3.0 and that program works fine (I just dont want to have to pay $70 for a new program when powervcr should be working). I have plenty of processing power (p4 2.4g with 512mb ram) and I have downloaded the most current asus drivers, and have tried re-installing powervcr, so I am at a total loss.

Any Ideas?? -- Cyberlink support wasnt much help

    Thanks in advance

  3. Not sure if this will help or not, but I was having a similar problem (diff hardware - ati tv wonder, but also using powervcr). The sound would cut off after 30 sec to a minute while watching tv. This was after working fine for several months, seemingly out of the blue it started acting up.

Turned out to be a conflict between Norton Antivirus 2002 and Windows Messenger (don't ask me why this affected my tv card). Anyway, I turned off the IM protection in NAV and everything is fine.

I usually disable NAV to capture anyway, but not to just watch tv.
