yea i was wondering if there was anyway that you could encrypt a dvd because me and alot of friends are making this badass video and were gonna sell them, but i dont want anyone being able to just make a quick copy i mean it wont be hard to copy it they will just have to decrypt it, and then burn it, but still is there any way?

some of the high-end authoring packages have this function, although some methods of encryption cannot be done to burnt discs, only pressed discs (pro manufacture).

And even then... is there any disc ever made that someone hasn't been able to rip?

More people have the means to play them than have the means to make them. If it's hot, people will buy it, in greater numbers than they will bootleg it.

So your options are clear - make enough to make it worthwhile to get a company to press them (usually at least 1,000 copies) or release it in the wild and take your chances.

Just wondering, have you sold badass video's before?
Maybe you should just worry about trying to sell the first 2 or 3, and then worry about thousands of people trying to copy it.

    Just a suggestion.

i got this from digibear on pinnacle

    tools instant copy 7

Taken one single layer DVD, ripped to harddrive with dvd decrypter.

Used IC to make another image on harddrive from orginal and inserted "Marked Error" at position 1, length 100.

Burnt image to RW and then ripped to harddrive with dvd decrypter without any problems.

Next is to insert marked error whilst burning.
inserting mark errors at the end of discs is how most companies do copyprotect disc

though there are ways around that too
