  1. Hi,

How do you make a pan-scan 4:3 mpeg2? - I can't work out how to do this, and I've tried looking at ways to do this in Vegas 4 and even Canopus Procoder but I can't find the options for pan-scan 4:3.

I need to create a pan-scan menu rather than a letter box menu using a 16:9 mpeg.

Scenarist wont let me create a pan-scan menu unless I have a pan-scan 4:3 clip.

I have imported into Scenarist a pan-scan menu from a ripped DVD just to see the video properties and sure enough it indicates that it's a true 4:3 pan-scan mpeg2 video.

I'd really appreciate any help that I can get, I have been asking around in different forums and haven't had any luck.

    THanks in advance,

    Peter

  2. Thanks for the link, but it's not quite what I had in mind. I should have been more clear.

What I mean by pan-scan 4:3 I don't mean panning and scanning a widescreen movie. I mean a 16:9 clip that can be viewed on 4:3 with the sides cropped.

Most of my projects are in 16:9 but I would like to design DVD menus for both 16:9 & 4:3 TVs.

Scenarist will only allow you to use 4:3 pan-scan specific format in order to use this method. It's still technically a anamorphic clip but not electronically 16:9.

    I hope this makes sence.

    Thanks again
