I am having problems with my pioneer 105 as it won't write 4x.
If i use nero and set for 4x i get an error which says : power calibration error. This only happens when i try to write at 4x , I have no problem writing at 2x.
I have tried other software like Prassi Primo and I can't write at 4x then either.
I am using datawrite red 4x discs
Can anyone please help this is doing my head in!![]()

If the disks can write at 4X then it is your firmware. You can be using latest official firmware but Pioneer can intentially not allow buring at 4X to those disks. I don't have those so I can't comment to much more but there are firmware hacks that open up the drive and remove some lock outs.
All I've got in this world is my balls and my word.....
and I don't break them for no one! -

Messed around with different firmwares and problem still remained i have now switched to RitekA4M and they work perfect seems my drive has suddenly become fussy about media when before it would write ok on anything , just a shame the ritek r double the price of the old discs I used
