  1. Importing and Encoding AVI to MPEG2 with TMPGenc works fine.

But when I try to import mpeg2-files I get the message:File"xyz.mpg" can not open, or unsupported.
I try to change the priority in the VFAPI settings, but this won't help.

When I change the nvidia system settings to Hardware Acceleration->NONE, I can import the mpeg2-files, but hardware acceleration is needed.

    Thanks for your help.

    Environment:
    MS Windows XP Prof SP1
    nvidia Geforce4 TI 4200
    Cyberlink PowerDVD XP 4.0

Tom, try and find the MPEG2 plugin for TMPG. I use to have a link for it but I can't find it. Do a search and see if you can dig it up.

I had the same problem, found it and put it in the TMPG folder and it worked fine after that.

    Good Luck.

Or run DVD2AVI on the MPG and save as a project file. Load the resulting d2v file in TMPG. MPGs are not listed as a file type in DVD2AVI but if you view all of the files and select an mpeg2 it will work.

    Either method should prove effective.

  5. Problem solved.
Installed the TMPGenc MPEG2 plugin, change priority and works so far.
    Great !!
    Will test dvd2avi soon.

So, thanks to all of you.
