Is the .ifo needed to resize a vob?

I use dvd2one for resizing dvd's to fit onto one dvd-r. I usually just rip the movie out using smartripper, but this time i used smartripper but had to choose just to rip the movie vob files and didn't include the .ifo!! Wheni try and re-encode the movie using dvd2one it's a no go and doesn't recognize the vobs because of the missing ifo. So is there any other way i can make a ifo or resize the dvd video without the ifo?

Use IfoEdit. Click on 'Create IFOs' at the bottom. It will make a new set of IFOs for your VOB files.
