i just cut out a few clips from a mpeg file and then i combined them together. but for some reason after i combine the files the time length in media player says the video is 2mins and 12secs long, but when i move the bar all the way to the end the video keeps going to 3mins and 30secs. how do i make media player see the whole video?

forget media player --- its hopeless on reporting correct time
maybe media player classic is better (it is at everything else vs. media player) -
use a better mpeg editor .
dont use vbr mpeg (in this case)
one or both of the above -
i used a few different ones, they all give a different length in time when i open it with media player and none of them have the whole time. is there a specific one you were thinking about?

What did you use to join the mpgs? Some editors does NOT fix the mpg headers so the total time gets messed up.

i used iFilmEdit and tmpgenc. i just copied the file to another computer and the media player on that computer sees the whole length. so i guess there is nothing wrong with the file, its my media player
