Fantom 9.4 Drives

I have seen these new 9.4 Fantom DVD writers. Here in Taiwan 4.7 double GB disks are available for peanuts. How to deal with fortytwo and or anyother avalable software for the Mac to use these 9.4 writers? DVD studio Pro allows writing to double sided disks, and I guess it would be possible to move files around but how?

I don't know if you have your facts straight... I don't know of any 9.4 GB media (single-side) recordable media. All 4.7 burners can burn a double-sided disc...they don't know the differentce between putting in a different disc or flipping the one that's in there over. Programs like DVDSP might have special authoring options for double-sided discs but that's about it. Toast or disc burner or anything burn a double one.

My understanding is these are double sided (regualr dvd-r 4.4 on either side), adding to a total of 9.4. Any writer can burn to these disks, since its just like a normal dvd-r just you can burn to both sides

if they have a single side 9.4 gb it would probably cost more than just buying a commercial dvd!

I suspect that the Fantom 9.4GB drives you're seeing are DVD-RAM, and they will only write 4.7GB to DVD-R.
