  1. Here is a small program that I wrote the automates the DVD copying process I use. I've backed up 100+ plus DVDs with this program todate.

*This program uses: DVD Decrypter, D-Tools Daemon, InstantCopy, PDIXtract.exe and Nero for now.
*You must already have these programs on your PC before you run this, it does not check for them right now.
*All program paths can be changed in the program, but not saved yet.
*You must have a C:\temp directory.
*This has only been tested on a Win2K box.

*Extract InstantCopy DVD Copy.exe from DVDCopyStuff.zip to your PC.
    *Put in your DVD.
    *Start InstantCopy DVD Copy.exe.
*Make sure the program paths are correct.
    *Click convert.
*Once the DVD is done ripping, replace the DVD with a blank one (if you only have 1 drive)
*Go do something productive and your disk should be done.

    TODO List:

    *Detection of file locations.
    *INI file.

    Download from here.

Just D/L'ed the file and ran Norton Antivirus on it. No viruses found. At least on the present version.

  5. I have just updated to the latest virus definitions on Norton AntiVirus 2003 (released within the last two hours). No virus was found in this download.

I should also point out that NAV is Bloodhound equipped - it has the ability to sweep for virus-like activity even if no definition exists for that code. Again, nothing was found, minimising the possibility of this being a totally new virus.

This file is clean according to Norton, and should be quite safe to download.

Smittymike19, your virus must have come from another source. Since you had to reformat your hard drive, I suggest you invest in a good antivirus program such as NAV or Sophos, as this will stop viruses dead and will therefore save you the inconvenience of losing valuable data.

  9. I would like to point out that this software has run perfectly on both my PCs.

I believe you may have been unlucky and picked something else up unaware, and it was pure coincidence that it caused damage to your machine at the same time that you ran this program.

Unless you have conclusive evidence to show that this program has malicious code in it, I suggest you search for other programs that may have caused this damage, before it happens again.

  10. Just some thoughts about your software:

I am not familiar with the "command line" options for DVD Decrypter. I am wondering why you need PDIXtract and Nero as the current version of DVD Decrypter will burn the .PDI files that IC7 creates You are using Decrypter to read why not burn?

Also IC7 will burn the DVD. So if you have 2 DVD drives, 1 for read and 1 for writing why not use IC7.

Last point, it has been my experience that IC7 needs some manually treaking to adjust the movie size to use the maximum available disk space. So a totally automated process does not work for me.

  12. jarvis1781,

I would like to compare this Vidomi with the all in one program I bought for $10.
Is Vidomi the real name, because I don't see it in doom9's downloads?

    Thanks,
    Ron

  14. Why do you even need a program at all when you can do it with a simple batchfile?
I am using alchohol instead of daemon tools but you can use daemon tools too.

    del c:\image\*.* /q
    "C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\AxCmd.exe" 1: /U
    "C:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\DVDDecrypter.exe" /mode iso /src f: /dest d:\dvdrip\imagex.iso /start /overwrite yes /close
    "C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\AxCmd.exe" 1: /M:\dvdrip\imagex.iso
    "C:\Program Files\InstantCD+DVD\InstantCopy\MultiCopy.exe" /dstimage c:\image\image.pdi /autostart
    D:\DVDTOOLS\tools\pdixtract.exe -i d:\image\final.iso C:\image\image.pdi

  15. Alright, first off smittymike, this program only does what I said it does, thats it. Like I said, I'll post the code if you want it.

The reason I dont burn the .pdi files in DVD Decrypter or IC is because I never got them to work right for me.

Has anyone else had success with this? I've noticed its been downloaded over 125 times.

  17. For anyone interested I've posted the src and newest exe here http://www.lookma-nohands.com/DVDCopyStuff-src.zip.

*Added a 1 sec delay in the loop to see if the external progs are running (saves on resources).
*Added a slot for DVD-Rom and DVD burner.

Have fun with whatever changes you wanna make...

  18. Thanks Mickey,

It works very well. The only change i made was to the Dvd drive boxes to match mine....Also for those that want to setup Instantcopy so that you can tweak it and still use thsi lil program you can just create a profile with customized setting in instantcopy.

  19. I kinda think along the same thing as joepic as to why not just use dvddecrypter to burn. It's worked for me. Just have the user in settings associate .pdi extension and when you double click or open it then it'll bring up dvddecrypter ready to burn.

  20. I just sent Version 2 to Mr Bass to be posted, but you can also get it here. Here are the updates:

    v2.0
    1. VERY IMPORTANT!!! You must set the DVD resize mode to automatic in order to prevent showing of the customize disc dialog (From MR.Bass' site).
    2. Now uses DVDDecrypter to burn disc via sendkeys (Nero removed).
    3. If orginial DVD is 4.3 or less, program just rip and burn the DVD.
    4. If the orginal DVD does not have a volume name, you will be prompted for one.
    5. Code completely redone.

Any and all comments and feature request are welcome!
