  1. I'm using Power VCR to capture video from a satellite receiver and I've tried several formats to capture with...e.g. DVD and Mpeg2 and Power VCR always makes those capture files around 614 megs each...so I might have 3-7 614 meg fiels...depending on the length of the movie.

    How can I make Power VCR capture it a one file only? I can't find any settings to make it do that.

    Anyone have a suggestion?

  3. Please change the registry value:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software CyberLinkPowerVCR II]

    "MaxRecSizeMB"=dword:00000FA0
    if you want 4GB.

    Maybe also higher values work. Please be aware of OS limits if you are not using a NTFS formatted hard drive (WIN2000, XP).

  4. I am using Windows XP Pro with NTFS file system. So, I have to enter a hexidecimal number? Can you give me some numbers for 5 gig and 6 gigs? Or is that to high?

    Go to the Start Menu, Run, then type in Regedit, then click OK.

  7. Decimal to Hex

    Use Start, Programs, Accesories, Calculator

    Change from Standard to Scientific

    Enter the decimal number e.g. 5000 and click Hex. Now you have the Hex value for your desired size. I'm not sure if PowerVCR will accept those. Using it for Cut & Merge there seems to be a limit of about 3GB.

    Damn! You guys are great! Thanks for that hack. That filesize limitation has been driving me nuts lately.
