  1. hi there everybody,

i´m trying to give my first footsteps with Dvd Maestro and i have the following problem:

    i´m trying to merge 2 video files ( m2v ) and their respective audio files ( ac3 ).
dvd maestro allows me to put the 2 video files one followed by the other but it doesnt allow me to do the same with the audio files.
One has to create a sync audio file ( whatever that is ) but when i assign each audio file to its respective video file and order the create new audio file when the process reaches 95% it hangs the dvd maestro.
if i invert the audio files ( not wanted obviously but as a experience ) it no longer hangs!

can anyone tell me where is the problem? or what am i doing wrong?

is the problem on the video files offset timecode? how can i reset the offset timecode in both video files? better yet for what is the offset for?

i m lost in here, i was almost getting to compile a 2 part dvd concert into one single dvd, which is more pratical.

    thanks advance for any help

    best regards

  2. how long do you actually let it hang ?

mine always hangs at 95% for a good 2 minutes, i believe it is at that point that it is syncronising the audio, the 95% is compiling again.

is your files named the same 1.m2v, 1.ac3 etc.

  3. hi,

well i let it hang for a while, almost 20 min.
i´ve tried something that was importing the ALL.ac3 and let it be parsed and voilá it gives an error when parsing :

Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset.
    Data might be corrupted.

I´ve ripped inicially the ac3 files with smart ripper but after that i tried with decrypter and it no longer hangs when creating thw sync audio file.

the only thing i dont understand is how 2 programs rip 2 different files, always with frames differences when compared with the video files.

smart ripper had less frames than video file giving a parsing error when importing the asset into maestro.

decrypter had more frames than video file dont giving the parsing error.

the parsing error is : a not complete frame is found?!

do you know any way to change the offset time off m2v files?

    thanks in advance

    best regards

you can change the offset time of the ac3 file by sliding it on the time line ..

you cant have the video start later than the audio - so there is no offset -- but you can trim the end of it in maestro ..
