I have a creative labs digital vcr capture card. I'm not sure how to set up my recording so the audio is in MPEG Audio format. Here's what I am doing:

I am trying to record some shows and then ultimately burn them onto a dvd for my kids to watch.

I record the shows using digital vcr. I then use the export program that came with digital vcr to export the shows to MPEG2 format. I understand this format is not recognizable to most programs, so I am using DVD2AVI to get the files into a format that tmpeng can recognize.

My problem is this. When I open some of the exported shows in DVD2AVI and look at the audio format it says "Linear PCM". Some of the shows say "MPEG Audio". Any of them that show MPEG Audio work great for me. The ones that say Linear PCM do not work. Once I run them through DVD2AVI and try to play the mp3 file that is created, all I hear is static.

How do I either set up digital vcr to only use MPEG Audio or how do I get those files that use Linear PCM to work in DVD2AVI?

Please help. I am very new to all of this, so please be specific in any suggestions you have. I would appreciate any and all help.
