HELP....... Bought a Ao5 which should be capable of writing x4 speed. Problem is i can only write at x1 speed although it says it`s writing at x4 speed. I am currently using datawrite disks which i am assured are compatable.
I`ve contacted pioneer but they are very slow responding. The 1st thing they suggested which has not worked is to upgrade firmware.
I have tried both Prassi Primo and Nero, including playing around witht the buffers.
XP
Athlon 2000+
256MbRAM
8 gig free hard
Any ideas would be gratefully recieved, cheers

What speed do the discs say that can be written at? If they don't say a speed then you can assume they will only write at 1x. 4x writing is still pretty new, so most discs cannot write at that speed yet. You have to buy discs that specifically say they will write at 2x, 4x, etc.
