  1. ok ive seen there are many requests similer to this but i cant make sence of them. Here is my problem i have a divx file lests say gone in sixty seconds dvdrip divx its a 700 or so mb file so i load up TMPGEnc
(ok now first off when i encode i do non standered svcds and what i mean by this is mpeg layer 1 non standered svcd and than burn as vcd with nero basicly the header trick but i reencode the actual movie) ok when i load the divx into TMPGEnc plus registered and do this it encodes fine so i burn than play and it goes out of sync like 5 minutes into the movie so i use a resync trick i leared by hitting the rewind button for like 1 seccond than hitting play it usually syncs back up... now my question is why is it going out of sync like every 10 minutes and is there anything i can change in TMPGEnc to prevent it from going out of sync (yes i have to encode as non standered layer 1 svcd cause my dvdplayer doesnt support standered stuff) any easy methods to help ?????????

Well, if it's one thing that's marks a CD as SVCD like, is that it's mpeg 2. Mpeg 1 would be VCD - specially as you author as VCD...
The header trick involves encoding to SVCD standard, while multiplexing as VCD (non standard) mpeg.
Your sync problem is probably due to errors in the source AVI. Use VirtualDub and scan for bad frames. Then save out the AVI again using direct stream copy. Use this copy as source for, or frame serve it to TMPGEnc

It's definately there in 1.4.13 - last option in the Video menu.
Even if the scan reports nothing, I've found that saving out a second copy and using that will help. I had this AVI recently, that kept crashing VDub (when frame serving) at about 16 minutes. Scanning reported nothing, but when I tried to play the AVI, VDub couldn't play a couple of 100 of frames at that point. So, I saved a new copy after scanning, and there was no problems after that.
