  1. hi,

out of all the dvds ive backed up, The Matrix seems different.

the audio is out of sync after the conversion.

i heard this dvd has "Multi-Angle" problems, what in the world are those?
and what do i need to deal with this?

    thanks

  3. I have ripped and converted quite a few DVD movies, but the Animatrix DVD is another story...much like the first Matrix DVD.

I recently rented the Animatrix DVD and watched it from my Windows computer without a problem. I ripped all of the .IFO/.BUP/.VOB files from the DVD using DVD Decrypter version 3 in "File" mode. When I use DVD2SVCD program to make a SVCD that is displayed to be about 1 hour 41 minutes long, but I instead get a SVCD image that is less than 1 hour. Also, using DVD2AVI program on the .VOB files, the audio file is made right but the .d2v project file is about 2 hours and 7 minutes long.

I now figure that this DVD may have many multi-angle features, which screws up the ease of ripping it.

How do I properly rip the DVD files from the original multi-angle disc?...using what ripper program? How do I process the .IFO and/or .VOB files so the decoded video and audio will be the same length and in sync?

    Thanks,
    -Peter

  6. I would recommend using IfoEdit to strip out the "IIvu/angle" pointers (if I got that right). I know the Matrix has three files of the same size and I could not figure out which one to take. So, I did a little experimenting and found if you check the "IIvu/angle" pointers along with what else need to be check marked when stripping a movie, you will get the complete movie along with the correct angle (you want program chain one). So, the sound should be in sync. I did the same with the Animatrix and the vcd I created with it turned out just fine. Don't have any sync problems.

I only realized the whole "angle" thing because I noticed Trinity's scene with the cops in the beginning of the movie repeated itself (the kicking the chair and running up the wall bit). My experiment worked!

  7. I apologize for breaking the forum rules.

Questions: How many of you engage in illegal acts without discussing them with others? How many of you actually own the DVDs that you backup?
