  1. This is my first post to this site (and an awesome site it is). I thought I was smart enough to read, read, read, read...you get the idea...and figure this out myself, but I guess not.

    Here's my deal.

    1) I ripped a DVD to my hard drive using DVDDecryptorv3.1.6 - \DVDBackup\AFewGoodMen

    2) I used DVD2ONEv1.1.2 to "crunch" the movie in full copy mode from \DVDBackup\AFewGoodMen to \DVDBackup\AFewGoodMen\VIDEO_TS.

    3) Used Nerov5.5.9.14 to burn. All I did was copy \DVDBackup\AFewGoodMen\VIDEO_TS to the VIDEO_TS folder used in DVD-Video mode and burn away.

    4) I took the DVD to my standalone, put it in, and hit play. It worked. The intro music played. The menus worked. It looked great. No, it looked fantastic.

    5) I got excited.

    6) I pressed play...no sound

    7) I destroyed DVD with extreme malice.

I've read about a million guides on this site, but I obviously missed something. What is it??????

I apologize for my ignorance. If I need to provide more information please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mick

  2. What audio did u check in DVD2one. If you checked to keep the 2nd Track then you have to use your remote to select the audio. Make sure you check at least 1 audio track in DVD2one. If you check the first audio track in dvd2one then you have no problem.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply.

    By first and second audio track, are you referring to AC3 2ch and AC3 6ch? If so, I selected AC3 6ch (English). Am I understanding correctly...if I select AC3 2ch I shouldn't have a problem?

    Thanks,
    Mick

  4. Mickey,

If you select the very first Audio track in Dvd2one then you will get audio..when you push play. If you select an audio track other then the first listed you will have to use your remote audio button to select the audio.

BTW those coasters might not be coasters trying using your audio button on the remote.

  5. I pulled it out of the garbage and tried it. It worked!!

That explains a LOT to me. Right now...in this home...you are the man!

Will you take a check or should I send a money order?

    Thank you so much,
    Mick

  7. I have asked in a few other forums, but Ill ask here, since you guys seem to be quick to respond.

I, like Mickey here, have been reading the crap outa this site (my high school english teacher would be proud).

I can rip a movie, and compress it with no problem. My problem is that no matter what I try to use to burn it, its fails - it never even actually tries to WRITE to the dvd.

I have tried DVD-R and dvd+rw. I have tried Nero, RecordNow Max, Copy2dvd - all fail.

any advise for a frustrated newbie? (Burner is a Sony dru-500a)
    Thanks!
