  1. Hey Guys,

Encountered a major problem when I upgraded my CPU from an AMD 1800+ to an AMD 2400+. When I go to encode in CCE my speed hovers around 0.240 where as with my older AMD 1800+ it would hover around 1.5, a huge drop in speed. I checked with WCPUID and it says that SSE is supported (as the only thing I could think of causing this was that SSE was disabled). If anyone has encountered this problem with CCE help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks

    Specs:
    AMD 2400+
    512 DDR PC2100
    Windows XP Pro
    CCE 2.50

  2. Sorry i don't know the answer to that question, but i noticed the speeds you say you used to get with your 1800+, i have an 1800+ and i only get around .720, do you think its my SD ram (yes i know its old) that keeps me from getting at least 1.0?

  3. yes, I definitly think the DDR would make a difference

  4. I have a similar speed processor to you SquirrelXss, an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ but I have 256 DDR RAM and get speeds of around 2.0. So yes I do think that your SDRAM is seriously slowing you down.

I used to have 256 SDRAM, but since having DDR RAM I have noticed that it is much, much faster. Well worth paying for if you're doing a lot of encoding.

As for the original question CyberDude101, I have had no problems at all with CCE 2.50 and my processor. I also have a friend that has a Athlon XP 2200+ and CCE 2.50 works fine on theirs too. When I upgraded from a Pentium III I didn't change any setttings I had in CCE it just seemed to carry on working fine. It could just be a problem with the XP 2400+ processor.

I have a 1.4 Athlon/512mb 133mhz SDram and I get speeds of 1.1, maybe you should look at other things first: do you have 2 h/disks? shutdown background programmes and defrag regulary.
