  1. hey all, just a quick question. I recently started to create svcd's instead of vcd because the quality is said to be much better. However, i am having a big pain in the backside when trying to play them in my dvd players!! some of them will play fine on one machine then not on another, will be out of sync on another etc... So i decided to go back to vcd's (not as good quality but, hey, at least they work!)

Now to my question... when i create a vcd (using tmpgenc) i find that the quality is fine but in certain places throughout the vcd it begins to get really blocky for a couple of secs and then goes back to normal. I know this aint a major issue but if someone could tell me how to solve it i would much appreciate it.

P.s I usually just use the vcd template and then up the bitrate to whatever is necessary for the vcd i am creating. Thanks in advance

  2. try using DVD2SVCD to convert the avi file and use CCE as your encoder. I have a dansai 1010 dvd standalone and have no probs with audio synch issues. However you could always put a delay on the audio to overcome this problem.

Use version 1 build 1 if u want it to convert xvid avi's direct.

    Good luck

  4. cheers for the info will give them a try. However, i did try CCE and it seemed a bit too complex for me...and using the basic settings, the videos produced were poor quality....maybe i just need to play around with the settings a bit more...thnx
