    vcd's suck...try svcd's if your player supports them:https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/119210.php

I've only tried a couple of svcd's and they did'nt turn out so good.
Do you have a good TMPGEnc template?
Is it still possible to make a decent SVCD 90 min movie using 2 cd's?

  6. defo

the thing that people go for is the "lets select a svcd template and thats it",

but its not , i never select the templates,
all it requires is a little working out

1st what do you want to do, do you want it on 1 or 2 cd's

then think about the length of the movie

ok for svcd a 700 meg cd=55 mins svcd timewise movie file

so for a film thats about 1 hour 30 mins=90 mins=45 mins per cd

or lower the bitrate to make it fit onto 1, what you gotta realise is what you do when lowering the bitrate is fooling the dvd player into its a normal svcd/vcd but it isnt, technicaly that what your doing

if you want good quality then i would go for 2 cd's

i have a guide i wrote in word, that i can send ya , it explains, in detail what to do, and if ya want it email me at mat_stuff@hotmail.com

i have a few peeps with rouglhy the same(ish) probs as here and they said it helps and i can also help you step by step which guides dont do

  8. although that guide starts well, it does get a bit thin at the ened, ege "slide the cq slider to 80, or if its about 2 hours might need to make it 70 to makes sure it fits"

in doing that you could be losing out in bitrate that could make a dif to the quality

surely its best using a bitrate calc to get the exact bitrate and so squeezing the highest rat to fit
