I have a few DVD compliant Mpeg-2 caps lately that are out of audio sync(not alot, but seem to get worse toword the end of the 4Gig cap...maybe 2 seconds at the end)

I want to fix them (If I can)before authoring and burning to DVD.

Can someone please explain how to do that?

    Thanks
(I've seen demuxing and remuxing to fix sync problems mentioned, but never understood why(or IF) that helps).

I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video.....

  2. Hi you could try running your mpeg through Pvastrumento to fix bad frames. DVD Movie Factory 2 will apparently ignore bad frames - hence sound out of sync. Don't ask me how or why. My mate had same problem with mpeg2 streams captured from Digital TV Card. Authored with MF2 and sync probs even though mpeg appeared fine when played on PowerDVD.

Same mpegs run through Pvastrumento use result in MF2 came out fine.

  3. Did you edit the audio and video seperate? What is the source?

  4. No you just run the mpeg file through Pvastrumento. Choose the ps setting I think. Did not demux audio and video. Only thing - not able to add chapters in MF2. But tv episodes work.

    Hope that helps.

  5. No, I want not sugesting a demux. Just that if the content was changed with the audio and video seperate it would cause a mis-sync that would gradualy become greater farther into the video. Example: Changing the frame rate of the the video without having the audio present. Like going from ntsc film to standard ntsc.

    Sorry if I confused...

  6. Hi

You don't have to demux with Pvastrumento. You can just run a "ps" this keeps the video and audio multiplexed. It does mean you can't add chapters to video in MF2 for some reason.
