I use TMPGEnc to convert to vcds. Whenever I use an avi that is in letterbox format, and I convert, the picture is always stretched out to fill the screen, rather than in letterbox format. How do I fix that?
In TMPGEnc, the settings I am using are:
Video:
Stream type: MPEG-1 Video
Size: Automatically loads
Aspect ratio: 1:1 (VGA)
Fram rate: 30 fps
Rate control mode: CBR
Bitrate: 1150
Motion search precision: Normal
Advanced:
Video source type: Non-interlace (progressive)
Field order: Bottom field first (field B)
Source aspect ratio: 1:1 (VGA)
Video arrange method: Full screen (keep aspect ratio)
Please help.
Thanks

you'll want to use
source video: "16:9 display"
video arrange method: "full screen (keep aspect ratio)".
also why are you using 30 FPS?
NTSC is 23.97 or 29.97 FPS, PAL is 25 FPS.
30 FPS isn't a VCD standard.Swim with me
And we'll escape
All the trouble
Of the present age
Finally free -
Also, in the video menu, what should the size be? It isn't automatically loading like it used to.

i always use 1:1(vga) and it turns out fine with full screen (keep aspect ratio)...
the 1:1 is referring to the shape of the pixels, not the resolution -
I match up the size of the movie with the size of the conversion, and it still doesn't do it correctly. The file that I'm using right now is an Xvid. Could that be the problem?
Thanks
