why can't i capture from my dv cam directly into Virtual Dub
I get an error: cannot find a driver to draw this nonrgb image format. Preview and histogram will be unavailable
the preview screen is black
whats wrong?

You can't "capture" dv in virtualdub. Get scenalyzerlive or dvio instead.
