    guys i need help!!!
    i have a sony davs 880 with a 42" plasma no matter how i author a svcd on lsx mpeg the picture doesn't come widescreen on the plasma it is always a square display with borders on the sides how can i make it widescreen the picture is from my dv camera so it isn't shot at widescreen

  2. Several points:

    1) SVCD (as well as VCD and CVDs) ONLY have a DAR of 4:3. You can author a 16:9 xSVCD and it MIGHT work in some players, but the odds are not that good.

    2) If your source is 4:3 why are you trying to convert it to 16:9? That is what do you want the final video to look like. Becuase unless you crop a LOT of the video or don't mind everyone looking 'streched out' there's really no way to do this (well).
