Sometimes I want to cram in a secondary audio commentary track on my SVCDs but I want to keep the file size as low as possible to keep the most space for the video and primary audio. I just did such an audio track at 32 kbps. It works as mono but when I originally tried it as stereo I got a high pitched whinning sound. Anybody know why. I'm encoding the audio with mainconcept mpeg encoder plug-in to Sonic Forge. The source file was a stereo WAV (from DVD2AVI).
The final stats: 51 mins. CVD video resolution 352 x 480 1880 ave. VBR, audio track 1: 192 kbps stereo, audio track 2: 32 kbps mono. Just makes it on an 80 min disc (with overburn getting the last few bits).
