  1. I used DVD2SVCD to convert an hour and 40 minute Divx video to SVCD, using TMPGEnc as the encoder. The end result when played on PowerDVD and my standalone DVD player has red ghosts where any movement is. The more movement in one place, the darker the red ghost gets, then resets about every 12 seconds.

Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what settings I can tweak to fix this? It's really getting to me because the total encoding took 7 hours, and the picture quality is beautiful besides the motion ghosts

What happened when you set the Ghost Reduction in the Advanced tab in TMPGEnc? Remember you only need to do a sample to find out if a setting works. May save you another seven hours 8)

  3. Is there an option to do a sample encoding, or do I have to manually edit a sample of the video? Thanks.

No. Just use the settings you would for normal encoding. When the output reaches a certain length you desire, stop the encoding. The output will only contain the video up to the point where you aborted the process.
    Hello.
