Hi,
I am new at capturing, so please help. I use a ATI Radeon 9200 vivo to capture live from ditgital sat. When I play back the capture, there is only about a one second clip which repeats itself while the audio runs fine. I tried many software including virtualdub, virtualvcr, freevcr, powerdirector, etc. I had the problem when first trying to capture on win2k. I then upgraded to winxp and the problem was solved for about a day, were I was able to make good capture with no frame loss. But now the problem came back. Can anyone help.
I have a AMD XP2400 on a EPOX 8RDA+ motherboard with the newest bios and chipset drivers. Also for my radeon a have the newest drivers.
I also notice that when I preview my live capture the picture goes a bit lighter and then a bit darker in about 10 second cycles. This also disappeared in the short time I was able to make good captures.
Thanks for the help!

This is the effect of Macrovision triggering the ATI card. Some ATI's are over sensitive and will engage Macrovision when the original tape has none! Make sure you have the latest drivers as this usually solved the problem of the fake Macro detection.
