I'm looking at getting a Panasonic burner in the near future. When I go out to buy DVDs over the net, I price shop for them using web sites like dvdpricesearch.com. With that said, there has to be something similar that can help me find the lowest price for these Panasonic units. Some places offer a wide difference in pricing and I'd really like to get the unit I want at the lowest price. Where can I go to find the very best price?

  2. Hmm, if you're talking about computer burners, I have no idea and this is the wrong forum.

But if you're talking about DVD standalone recorders.
DO NOT PURCHASE ONE FROM A CANADIAN RETAILER! It would cost almost double what you'd pay, going to a site like ecoustics.com and importing one yourself

And when he imports that standalone burner, he'll get hit with an up to 80% tariff. Don't believe me? Call Canada Customs. His best bet is to commute to Toronto's Chinatown, they have the lowest prices of burners,PC and standalone in Canada.

What in hecks name are you talking about?

I purchased a DMR-E30 from a US E-tailer for $633CDN (461US) EVERYTHING INCLUDED(taxes, duty, shipping etc.), compared to the $999 wanted by canadian retailers. And I paid nothing more when it hit the door.

That looks like a huge savings to me

Well, he's talking about customs charges. They stop about twenty percent of what comes over the border and decide whether the contents are a sale and worthy of a customs charge. If they don't decide to inspect and it goes through, you luck out, but if not, you get charged massive fees.
