  1. yes, i purchased my new Panasonic camcorder today, for a very very reasonable price (230.00) ive seen them higher online. Anyways is there anyway i can use it for pass thru either it being digital or analog?, i just wanted to know since everybody else is doing it.

    Sorry, I did not read your subject title. I did read your manual at the Panasonic web site. It does not look too good. It mentions nothing about passthrough, and your camera has only A/V out, not A/V in/out, which is needed for analog passthrough.

    Now, since your camera does has firewire, if you are the proud owner of a VHS player that has firewire, you are in business. Otherwise, you can only send video from your computer's firewire through your camera, out its A/V connectors, and into your VCR/TV.

    I hope this helps. I own a digital camera without passthrough as well. I just capture in DV, edit, and convert to a DVD-R(W). Then I can record the DVD video to a VHS.
