  1. Over the past couple days, I've found that two of the movies I've burned to VCDs have absolutely horrible sound in my DVD player. It seems to be playing (an estimated) 2 seconds for every second of video, and the audio is very quiet. I've got 20 or so that work fine, and the sound plays correctly on my computer on the pre-burn MPEG and MOV files. It's also (probably) not the CDs, since I had reburned one of them onto a second VCD with the same results.

All the movies were reformated the same way AVI->MOV (by DivX Doctor)->MPEG1 (Quicktime Pro). Is it possible that the AVI was corrupted somehow, that only affects a VCD and not the MPEG file?

  2. Pity bump?

Another movie came out crappy, but the VCD worked just fine in VLC.
