    Does previewing in TMPGEnc slow it down speed it up or nothing at all? just wondering if i should have it turned off thinning or display all

    It can't be that much of a difference. It only shows one frame every few seconds. I kind of like to see what's going on. Do a test with and without, see if you notice a difference.

    Option > Preview Option > Display with thinning or display every frame

    Maybe a daft question but what is the point in previewing?

    It doesnt show the end product eg theres no sound and its so choppy the playback it bears no resemblance to the finished encode.

  6. No...your not talking rubbish.
    The only worth while preview you can do is to start the encode,stop it after a few minutes and check out the results (the only thing is that if its one of those gradual out of sync encodes then ...you s.o.o.l

  7. The pictures it shows are the once just encoded, hence is it more or less just dumping from memmory to the screen, as well as saving to HD. This should not affect much.

    the help file in tmpgenc says previewing will slow down the encode because processing time is used the render the preview pic.
