  1. ive got an avi file which i want to convert so it will go in to tmpgenc.
    what programme can i use and how do i do it.
    Its all for files to go in movie factory 2 without having mf2 to convert it itself.

    If I'm not mistaken, tmpgenc can read avi files directly. Just drag or browse and select. Tmpgenc may not be able to handle all codecs for avi, however.

    If tmpgenc says that it the avi is not supported you may want to bring the avi into virtualdub (vd) and check for errors. Then output the avi using a different codec (like hufyuv, if you have it).

    You can also bring the file into vd and frameserve to tmpgenc. There is a guide around here somewhere for doing frameserving from vd.

    tmpgenc will read most all avi files but you may need to change the avi reader prioritys in the vfapi reader settings ... there will be two avi file readers listed and sometimes you will need to change both of thier priorities (dont make them the same) - make one high and the other low and if that doesnt work - reverse it ..
