  1. How can I convert a DVDSCR.XviD.avi so that I can burn a VCD with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the avi techniques listed on the site here, but when i try to find out what the frame rate, and extract the audio using virtualdub, a warning flashes, but doesn't stay around long enough to be able to read it. Any advice??

you can try using tmpgenc. open the program and chose option->enviorement settings and select vfapi plug-in. then you put the directshow multimedia file reader to the maximum priority. now start the project wizzard and chose what template do you like and load the file . this is the tecnique i use to make (s)vcds and dvds from xvid & divx. if you need to convert from another source make sure you put the directshow multimedia file reader back with the default setting
